Streszczenie
W czasie polskich wykopalisk na Kom el-Dikka w Aleksandrii odkryto pięć fragmentów szkła z dekoracją w formie symboli chrześcijańskich. Trzy z nich ukazują crux monogrammatica, natomiast pozostałe dwa ilustrują odmienne od siebie, reliefowe przedstawienia krzyży łacińskich. Symbole znajdują się na bazach dmuchanych w formie naczyń oraz na stemplowanych aplikach. Wnioskując z koloru szkła (zielony oraz żółto-zielony) oraz jego jakości, zabytki te możemy datować na przełom późnego okresu rzymskiego i wczesnego okresu bizantyjskiego. Prawdopodobnie reprezentują one lokalną produkcję. Znaczenie prezentowanych odkryć polega nie tylko na pogłębieniu naszej wiedzy na temat dystrybucji i chronologii szkła, zdobionego symbolami chrześcijańskimi, ale również na tym, iż są to wyjątkowo rzadkie znaleziska wśród zabytków szklanych, zarówno w Aleksandrii i Egipcie, jak i w całym regionie Morza Śródziemnego.
