Streszczenie

Table ware pottery of Early Roman date from Polish Excavations at Alexandria conducted before 1986 has been studied with little access to documentation of stratigraphy. Only aggregated frequency of occurrence of particular wares was possible and could be compared to frequency at other sites in this city. Cypriot Sigillata was found in low number (9.02%, including doubtful pieces) and was not only less frequent than Eastern Sigillata A but even than Italian Sigillata. This contrasts with situation in Late Roman period, when Late Roman D + E (so-called Cypriot Red Slip) wares are among most numerous imported fine wares.
