Abstract

Authors compare the hydrological conditions of the ancient city of Altinum at the lagoon of Venice with the current (today) conditions of this area and propose hypothesis of land reclamation operation in antiquity. The comparison was done while using the geomorphological information gathered at the beginning of the Twentieth century during an attempt to make the ancient Altinum inhabited.
