Abstract
The paper aims at interpreting a portrait on a cast glass cameo, once belonging to the Minutoli collection and now in the National Museum in Warsaw (Inv. No. 199 975). The object is damaged, encumbering its identification and dating. The deep undulation at the temples is the most interesting feature of the hairdo in this portrait. It can be conjectured, based on comparanda, that the image portrayed a woman, presumably of high rank, from the Julio-Claudian period. But it cannot be excluded neither, that the cameo is a modern copy.
